Exhibition: Czech High Gothic in Models
August 29 - October 8, 2023 The Klementinum Gallery, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., admission free
Presented are 20 physical models of buildings from the High Gothic period at a scale of 1:100, created by students and pedagogues of the Architecture and Civil Engineering Programme of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical College, Prague. Display panels provide further information and photos of the present state of some of the locations and buildings. Worth mentioning is e. g. a model of the Klementinum, or the Cistercian monastery and the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady in Zbraslav; the latter was supposed to be a burial ground of the ancient royal family of Přemyslids. The display also features a new model of Lauf Castle, built by Charles IV as a fortress to guard the Imperial trade route between Prague and Nuremberg.
