Legal deposit of periodicals
Legal deposit of periodicals is governed by the law No. 46/2000 Co., about discretions and duties with issuing of periodical press and about changes of other law (Press Law), which was changed in August 2, 2000 by law No. 302/2000 Co. and June, 13, 2002 by law No. 320/2002 Co.
Publishers are obliged to send copies of periodicals to selected libraries. Two copies of each issue are determined for The National Library of CR, one copy for regional libraries, Ministry of Culture, The National Museum Library and The Parliamentary Library. Titles for blind or weak-eyed readers are received by The K.E.Macan Library and Printing Office for blinds.
Periodicals required by legal deposit are catalogued in electronic catalogue of NL CR - base NKC. Records are also part of Czech National Bibliography.

Since January 2000 are scanned covers of new titles added to a list. Since November 2010 are scanned covers added to records in base NKC in the frame of project TOC.
